GroPockets Seedling Supplies

There are several options for getting your plants started outside of the GroPockets towers. You might want to do this to optimize the initial growth by putting the seedlings under a light.

One way is to sprout the seeds in a tray of media or a seed sprouter and move the individual miniature seedlings into a GrowGrip which is captured by the hole in the GroPocket. No net pot is required in this case. If you had some seed with an unknown germination rate or very small seed which is tedious to distribute, this technique would save labor distributing seeds. You would only transplant the seeds which had germinated.

Another way is to sprout the seeds in a plug within a tray and let them grow for several weeks under a light. The plants would be less leggy and would develop a good root structure. Once you were satisfied, the plants could be moved into a net pot and placed in a pocket.

GrowGrips are also suitable for capturing the roots of bare root plants which you might buy, such as strawberries.
